My name is Terry Walker and I am the developer of The Daily Success Checklist. I put together this web site to be the home of the Daily Success Checklist application.
I was inspired to create the application after reading “The Compound Effect” by Darren Hardy. In that book Darren spells out one of the most overlooked aspects of achievement and success. In a word that aspect is consistency. Personally, I have ‘tried’ to make changes in my life. Changes like ‘earn more money’ or ‘get into better shape’, and a bunch of others. I would start down a course of action for a few weeks or even months. Then I would just begin to skip taking action everyday until one day the action just stops. Needless to say, I did not get the result I was after.
I desired to be consistent. Being a Software Engineer by degree and an overall Technologist and student of personal development, I set out to find a simple checklist widget that I could place on the home screen of my Android smartphone. This widget would act as a visual reminder to help me stay consistent. Unfortunately, (or fortunately) I did not find one that had the features I wanted. So, I created one.
The idea is simple. Put a list of the actions I know I need to take everyday on my home screen. As I complete an action, I check it off the list. The amount of actions I have left on the screen is clear by the contents of the widget right on my home screen. When I complete the list of actions for the day a green check mark is placed on a calendar for that day. That day has been a success because I did all the things I needed to do. As I have more successful days my calendar begins to fill up with a chain of green check marks. I am then compelled to insure that I don’t break that chain of check marks. That chain becomes a simple motivator to keep me taking my actions each day, thus taking me one day closer to success.
To your continued success,
